Wild Edible Plants and Mushrooms of Cape Cod with Author Russ Cohen

Cape Cod is home to over 90 species  of edible wild plants, some of which are more nutritious and/or flavorful than their cultivated counterparts, and at least a dozen species of edible wild mushrooms.  

Join Russ Cohen, author of the book Wild Plants I have Known…and Eaten, for a PowerPoint presentation covering more than two dozen of the tastiest wild plant species the region has to offer.  Identification tips for each species will be provided, along with info on edible portion(s), season(s) of availability and preparation techniques, as well as general guidelines for safe, respectful and environmentally responsible foraging.  Last but not least: Russ will supply handouts as well as samples of foraged goodies made with wild edible ingredients for people to sip and nibble on.
